YOUTH THEATRE
Our aim is to connect and empower EVERYONE within our community through the power of the arts, so there is no audition for our theatre classes or productions – just turn up full of energy and be BOLD, be BRAVE and be YOURSELF!
Our classes run every week, using acting, singing and dancing as a tool to connect young people together and develop their confidence, creativity and social skills in a safe and nurturing environment. We celebrate everyone for who they are now and use the power of the arts to help them become who they want to be, so we have several productions throughout the year to show off our Sparks being BOLD, BRAVE and THEMSELVES!
Little Sparks is intended for those aged 4 – 7 years.
In these classes we explore our imagination, creativity and learn our basic stage craft skills through acting, singing and dance.
Our Little Sparks have two performances a year, written and designed especially for them. These performances are fully costumed, fully tech-ed with lighting and set, and we make sure that each Little Spark gets their own little shining moment to be BOLD, BRAVE and THEMSELVES!
Big Sparks is intended for those aged 8 – 12 years.
In these classes we further develop our stage craft skills through acting, singing and dance.
Our Big Sparks tackle script work, write their own pieces and work towards one large scale performance at the end of the year. This performance is a professional, fully licensed musical with a live band, performed on a professional theatre stage, giving our Sparks a professional level experience and the chance be BOLD, BRAVE and THEMSELVES!
Youth Company is intended for those aged 12 years and over.
In these classes we encourage our members to be BOLD, BRAVE and THEMSELVES by using their voices to express their own point of view.
Our Youth Company work with a professional director to create their very own bespoke show, addressing the issues they feel are important. This gives our members the chance to become effective contributors to their local community, providing them with the confidence to speak up and to be empowered to strive for their own goals for their future. Once they have worked on their own piece, our Youth Company members then join our Big Sparks for the big licensed musical at the end of the academic year.
When you first join us your first class is FREE, giving you an opportunity to trial our classes and see if it is right for you.
Regular class fees are £8 per hour, with most classes lasting one hour per week.
Youth Company classes are £15 for a two hour class.
All fees are required in advance and are paid at the start of each term.
We believe that access to quality theatre arts should be affordable so there is no joining fee, no extra cost for costumes and no extra cost to participate in our productions.
